Money will change your character and you will become a bad person

It is just another myth.

If you understand what money is and have control over it, you will be able handle your emotions and character even if you’re rich. You don’t have to change your character because you have lot of money. If you wish, you can leave it in your bank account and live the same simple life as you lived before.

On the other hand, money could change your character if you don’t have control over it. The amount of money you use affects your social status and social status affects your character. If you are very poor, it is highly probable, that you will spend your time with other poor people.

The majority of poor people do not plan for a bright future - often they do not plan at all. If you are constantly in a group of people who do not plan and make fun of you if you do plan, you will be affected by them. It is up to you whether you conform to people around you and start behaving like they do, or whether you follow your own path, no matter of what others say about you.

Sometimes a man who becomes rich realizes his increased value for other people and he changes his opinion about himself. His wealth can change his habits too, and habits affect the character of a man. If you have a lot of money, you have power over many people, because you can buy their services.

Some people who got rich without work e.g. by inheritance, can have the false belief that they can ‘buy’ other people, and they can become arrogant. It is true that they can buy what other people will do. The problem starts when they believe they can buy anybody, which is false. Not everybody is interested in their money. If you are rich, you have to be able to recognize who can be bought and who will be offended by your behavior.

People are different and you have to treat them differently and with dignity unless you want to see the back of them. People are not equal even if I would like to believe they are. The blessing of having enough money is that you will no longer have to worry about your personal physical needs. The curse of being rich and showing it to others is that people around you know you are rich, and you may not be able to tell who really loves you and truly cares about your well-being and who spends his time with you just because of your money.

Many rich people then change their behavior to protect themselves, and assume that everybody is with them just because of their money until they prove otherwise.

Three main solutions are:
1. Get used to the fact that some people will be with you because of your money. You have to learn how to separate those two kinds.
2. Do not show off that you are rich. Then you will be not attractive to people who seek to use you because of your money.
3. Spend your time with people who were your friends before you got rich.

Most self-made millionaires who became rich by their hard work live below their means, and they decided to sacrifice luxury today to enjoy freedom tomorrow. This sacrifice shaped their character, but in a good way. They were affected by what they did and not by the amount of money in their bank account.

There are cases of lottery winners who continue to work at their jobs and live in the very same houses they had before they struck it lucky. Money did not change them. There is nothing wrong with being wealthy. Money is just a tool. It can be used for good and also for bad purposes. It is up to you how you use it.
